Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis urged Panhandle residents on Monday to prepare immediately for Tropical Storm Zeta.
The official NHC forecast calls for Zeta to make landfall on the Yucatan Peninsula Monday night as a Cat. 1 hurricane. It should move into the Gulf Tuesday and move northwest. It is expected to turn northeast on Wednesday making landfall along the central Gulf coast as a Cat.1 hurricane Wednesday night.
The cone of uncertainty has a projected landfall between Louisiana and Alabama.
“As we’ve seen in the past, storms can change course and strengthen quickly, leaving little to no time to prepare so now is the time to ensure your disaster plan is in place,” Patronis said in a statement.
