Tropical Storm Gamma, the 24th named storm of the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane season, is making its way through the Atlantic and is currently packing maximum sustained winds of 70 mph. It is moving toward the northwest, with a decreased speed and a north-northwest turn in the following days.
Southeastern Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula, Central America, and Cuba are all expected to receive heavy rainfall.
There is a hurricane warning in effect for:
- North of Punta Allen to Cancun Mexico
A tropical storm warning for:
- Punta Herrero to Dzilam Mexico
- north and west of Cancun to Dzilam Mexico
A tropical storm watch for:
- South of Punta Herrero to Puerto Costa Maya
- West of Dzilam to Progreso Mexico
Cloudiness, showers, and thunderstorms are being produced by a tropical wave over the eastern and Central Caribbean Sea, with heavy rain and winds over the ABC Islands, the Lesser Antilles, The Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and proportions of the coasts of Colombia and Venezuela, with a 50% chance of it developing into a tropical depression.
There are chances of heavy tropical rainfall in Florida Saturday and Sunday.
Showers and thunderstorms are being produced by a second tropical wave located over the central tropical Atlantic, with a 20% of development. There is a third area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the Central Atlantic with a 10% chance of development.
