According to a recent report by the Sun Sentinel, weather forecasters upgraded Hurricane Michael from a Category 4 storm to a Category 5. This makes the storm the fourth hurricane on record to hit the United States as a Category 5.
After National Hurricane Center scientists conducted a detailed post-storm analysis for Hurricane Michael, they concluded that the storm’s estimated intensity at landfall was actually 5 mph faster than last year’s estimate.
