NORTH MIAMI BEACH (NMB), FL – Insurance Litigation Group (ILG), a statewide property and business insurance claims dispute boutique law firm, worked with local religious leaders and non-profits to identify and send food and supplies to families in need. With the COVID-19 pandemic lasting so long, many in the community have lost their jobs and are having difficulty making ends meet, while huddled in place with their families.
“It has been a challenge for many local families to put food on the table and purchase the supplies necessary to follow CDC recommendations, as well as traditional meals to observe Passover or Easter,” said Michael Biberman, Esq., owner and founder of ILG. “When we see a need in the community, we help out; that’s our firm’s culture.”
Michael Biberman, Esq. and Chaim Breier of ILG worked closely with Rabbi Aharon Dovid Singer of Kollel Zichron Michel of NMB (a place where there is constant study of Torah) and Rabbi Mark Rosenberg, chaplain to law enforcement agencies including FHP and the NMB Police Dept. Rabbi Rosenberg is also a Director of the Florida Division of not-for-profit Chesed Shel Emes (which means charity of truth or charity of true loving kindness).
Baskets delivered to the families-in-need included food items for holiday meals, disposables, cleaning and disinfecting solutions, masks, and other non-perishable foods.
“Many area families have been devastated by job losses and economic issues connected with the pandemic,” said Rabbi Singer. “Michael and Chaim from ILG are usually the first to ask, ‘who needs help,’ and they always deliver, without fanfare.”
“Many of the area’s extended families total 10 or more. With the kids home from school and parents out of work, it has been a huge challenge,” said Rabbi Rosenberg, who has been very involved in the community. “People don’t want to admit they need help, but with the extended stay-at-home COVID-19 crisis, so many truly need the essentials to observe their religious holidays and just to get by,” added Rabbi Rosenberg.
