According to Spectrum News 13, many people in Florida’s Panhandle have been living in a “tent city” in a Panama City church parking lot that will close Monday. The tents have provided relief for many who were forced out of their homes by the massive hurricane.
Tyndall Air Force was also affected by Hurricane Michael. The base is expected to receive 72 new fighter planes. Three squadrons of F-35 jet are expected to arrive in the next five years, according to the Panama City News Herald.
This can bring about 2,000 new pilots to the base. Employees have been returning to the base over the last several weeks.
