Major Rick Anglin has confirmed that the repairs needed due to Hurricane Michael for Bay County Jail is approximately 98% complete. While this hurricane occurred about 15 months ago, the repairs are just now coming to an end, with only security fencing and the lighting left to be completed.
There was a total of $169,764.11 worth of repairs set for the fencing- 19 different repairs or replacement needed in total regarding security fencing.
Bay County Commissioner Keith Baker states that the security fence that is being repaired however is not on the outside part of Bay County Jail. He also says that this situation just further shows the severity of Hurricane Michael and its aftermath.
This repair project is set to begin in the middle of February, and should take approximately 60 days total to complete.
