According to a recent Wall Street Journal article citing a Kaiser Family Foundation survey, a year after Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, more than 40 percent of those still trying to recover from the storm damage to their homes, said they were not getting the help they need to make repairs and rebuild. Most of the victims who experienced windstorm and flood damage who said they were not receiving the help they need were overwhelmingly African American.
There are definitely similarities experienced by Texans, Puerto Ricans and Floridians who had damage to their homes last year resulting from Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.
