Tropical Wave on Watch: Next Depression in Coming Days?

Aug 11, 2020

A 15mph disturbance moving west-northwest is now on watch for South Floridians, as experts warn it could become the next depression- and possibly a named storm- this hurricane season

The wave is currently thousands of miles away and will pass the Leeward Islands this week,  however the system could evolve into a tropical depression by Tuesday or Wednesday.

While this disturbance is being watched, there is no current concern that it will form into anything that will leave major damage behind. The tropical wave will hit conditions throughout the week that will most likely prevent it from strengthening too much, however experts are keeping a close watch.
